Club match at Rockingham County Gun Club ( NC ) June 27th 200 yards

RCGC will be hosting our next club match of the year on Saturday, June 27th. We will shoot 2 matches, one for group and one score at 200 yards. Registration / setup begin at 8am. Match starts at 9am.

Classes are available for Benchrest, Modified, and factory rifles.

Season trophies will be awarded at our last match of the year.

You do NOT have to be a club member to participate.

Match schedule for 2026 is as follows:

June 27th - Group and Score @ 200 yards
July 25th - Group @ 100 yards
August 22nd - Score @ 100 yards
October 3rd - Group @ 200 yards
October 31st - Score @ 200 yards

We shot the match yesterday, it was hot and muggy for the match with fairly light winds. We shot 200 yd score first and Ken Eades continued the beatings with that hot new barrel he has. Ken was first by a bunch with a 265, Zack Darnell was 2nd with a 260, Steve Stanley was 3rd with a 260 also. We switched to group targets and did it again. The conditions looked fairly good but the targets said otherwise, there were some ugly targets shot yesterday, i started to say groups but most of them had no resemblence to a group! Cuz'n Roy Darnell started strong with a .290 on match 1, he held the lead until he and most everyone else was completely undone by match 4, it was ugly, a .762 was small group for match 4. Ken Eades came from behind to take the win with a .3128 agg, Butch Mays was 2nd with a.3249 agg and Cuz'n Roy got bumped to 3rd with a .3364 agg. Tasting
