Chamber reamer and stress proof steel

I need to make a tool and the only piece of steel I have on hand is a piece of stress proof.
Would it hurt a good chamber reamer to use it on stress proof or should I order a piece of 12L14 ?

    Thanks

I don't think there would be a problem

We machine a lot of Stressproof. It is a carbon/manganese alloy with a relative high sulphur content to enhance itís machinability.

It is very good machining steel. You will harm nothing.
