6mm Remington bests the 243 by 150 fps. Still a short action. Very accurate. Available as factory load. Really versatile when reloading. 22" barrel is adequate. Low recoil makes it very...

I've got a Phoenix in 204 Ruger. It does shoot as well as advertised. I use 10X powder and either Sierra Blitzking and it'll stay around .3-.4.
Pre-64's appreciate....post-64's depreciate. Buy em, shoot em, enjoy em, and sell em for more money than you spent.

Several years ago I had the same dilemma. After my research I bought a Rock River Arms lower with 2 stage Nat. Match trigger and a White Oak Armament Varmint upper. John Holliger from WOA was great...
Thanks Brian, I think you got it right about the barrel....it is an early 1969 model when Douglas was supplying Ruger with barrels. Also, during that period, old Bill Ruger wanted a successful bolt...
For the best accuracy possible I think I'd look at CZ on the low end of the budget and Anschutz at the high end. But, that's just me. Others may have other opinions.
I bought this 6mm flat bolt last weekend for $349. I shot it this morning for the 1st time. I think it shoots pretty good for a 42 year old lightweight. ...
I got my Caldwell Rock BR 1000 from Cablea's. I assembled it and tried several rifles in it while pointing out the window. It works just fine. The vertical and windage adjustments are a step up...
Cabela's has the Caldwell BR Rock 1000 on sale for $100. I don't shoot competitive benchrest. I test loads for 4-6 calibers and shoot groups/targets informally. Is this a good rest for those...
Ya! the internet sucks. Let's go back to gun magazines and let the gun writer's tell us what is best.
Yes but, what is your point?
And, I think you meant to write, "They show are their guns on their web site."
I bought the Cooper...here it is. I'm too old to worry about scratches and dings. I'm going to shoot and enjoy hunting with this one.

Yup, my experience was similar. I talked with John Holliger personally when ordering my WOA upper. He asked about my uses for the upper and made recommendations on barrel length/twist...
What, isn't there any Cooper owners using this forum?
I've done the Remington, Savage, Winchester, Ruger thing. Now that I have a few extra dollars to piss away I'm going to get something a little special. I really like the style and wood in the...
I'm considering buying a Cooper 52 in 25-06 but, I haven't seen much internet chatter regarding the 52. Anyone here have one or seen them shoot? I'm especially interested in the 25-06 but want to...
Get a Cooper..you won't be sorry.
I've owned a White Oak Armament Varmint Upper for about 5 years. I had mine cut and crowned to 22 inches by WOA when I bought it. Mine is a 7 twist that likes 60gr. V-Max and 55 SBKs with Varget or...
I have a Savage 12 Benchrest in 6 BR with an 8 twist. Like many others I've had trouble with the accutrigger until I tightened it a little. The dual port is nice for bench shooting but it would...
For whatever reason I've always had good luck with IMR powders in hunting rifles and Hodgdon in competition rifles. My 270 really likes 57 grains of IMR 4831 behind a 130 Sierra Spitzer. As always...
The new look is much better! I'm going to look around a little for other changes and new stuff..
Very nice looking gun....wood especially looks good! outshooting the cz is going to be tough. Enjoy the Cooper..they are special guns.
:D
Thanks everybody for the suggestions and help. I did modify Hornady's modified case to fit my chamber. I'm now getting accurate and repeatable measurements.
In spite of the earlier hassles I'd...
I measured the neck on the Hornady modified case and compared it to 6-8 new Lapua cases. The Hornady modified case is 4-5 thousandths larger than the new Lapua cases.
I've found the receipt and...
