    Question 6mm x284 win

Which is the best way to form 6mm X284 from 6.5x284?

    Thank you.

    Pierre,

Run the case through a Lee 6-284 body die.

    6mm 284

I wildcat several cartridges off the .284 original case.

By far Laupa Brass is the best.

For the 6mm X .284 I recomend getting a full length sizing die from Redding. I use a Redding Competition seater die.

If you use a Redding S type bushing die on the first sizing you may get a donut ring.

For sizing up I recoment a tappered expander button.

    I load and shoot 6mm .284, 6.5 X .284, .284, and 30 X .284 all are great cartridges.

Nat: I am building another 6 and have some interest in the 6-284. What kind of accuracy do you get from this?????

    6mm x .284

The first 900 rounds shoot ten shot groups in the .4s or better. Then groups open up. With 90 grain Swift Scirocco or 85 grain Barnes XXX running 3300-3400fps.
Drops deer like hit with a hammer, plus 2" groups at 600 yards. Great for Coyotes too.
Shoots flatter than a .243Win or 6mm Remnington. Plus great Lapua brass.

+1 what Nat said with the addition of Annealing after sizing down.
