At one point I started carrying my set of certified check weights with me. A Club wanted to dq. my rifle & I knew damm well I was legal.
Hoke was a very good writer, and all around good guy. It was always a pleasure to talk with him !!
Before long, some protesters will want to tear that down !!!!!

Baseball "used to be a GREAT GAME". Hell, if you can't plunk a batter, or two. why play the game !!!!!
Or.... "COMMUNITY ORGANIZER" ....
Spalted Maple ??
Kent, great to hear from you ! I still have most of my Kit, as well, but I grew tired of chasing ammo, & the travel. Sadly, a lot of the Ranges in the Mid-Atlantic have dropped out of the Rimfire...

I expect Tim can add to this conversation !
Gosh, that's funny !!!!!!!!!!!!
Fred, all the "old time" Benchrest Shooters are thinking of you and Dorothy right now. Best wishes, Glynn

Gosh, another good guy gone. I knew Bill when he lived in Richmond, VA . He was, a that time shooting both Rimfire & Centerfire Benchrest. Then he moved west. He was always a pleasure to talk to.
Gosh Dave, I was thinking about Marshall the other day. He was a good gunsmith & a smart shooter, also fun to be around. The time frame you mentioned was an exciting time to be shooting rimfire...
Portland is "special". My daughter lived there for 5 years, & still spends a week a month there on business. It was always interesting to visit, but I wouldn't live there on a bet. :)
Seems that I read somewhere that it helps to oil the sawdust !!
Dick, with your gift for writing, I think many of us would enjoy you describing the equipment used, & available, when you started shooting Benchrest.
Hoke is a great guy, & a great writer. I wish his a quick recovery.
