Are the necks smoothly blended into the shoulder? No "step' at the neck/shoulder junction?

Mort, the spring is 1/8" diameter and 5/16" long. I used a spring from from my local Ace Hardware spring drawer. A 700 spri g will also work with a little reliefe added by the trigger cross pin. Hope this helps. -Al

Butch, is that the H4198 'Extreme' or the pre-Extreme? -Al

Also, if you're measuring fired cases with the primers in...that can add .001-.002 to your measurement. -Al

With the steel one for a pattern, an aluminum version can be done on a water jet. I did a reverse of this to  add weight to the bottom of my Hart/Sinclair rest. Good shootin' :) -Al

Jeff, it was Field And Cave Outfitters that used to make those, along with other very well designed and made items. Unfortunately, they've ceased production of the shooting gear. Try a 'Wanted' add on Accurate Shooter. One of the members there bought their remaining stock of items...

Wasn't a biggie to do using a 3/8" diameter, 82 degree carbide counter sink tool. Depth was .020...just enough to give a bit more angle on the neck approach. Good shootin' -Al

The fit of the bearing capsule into the front plate is critical to them operating smoothly. Best results come from fitting it on an individual basis. Butch's tensioners are a big improvement. There's more tweaking that can be done to them, too.
