UBR - Dry Branch Rifle Range, Dixon Springs TN - 2024 Results

Subject: UBR 3 2 24 DBRR The 1st match of the 2024 season was shot at Dry Branch RR on Saturday. Sixteen rifles competed in very decent weather for the 1st W/E in March. Temp topped out in the low 50s with misting rain for a good part of the day and the wind was light, 0-5 mph from the WSW. This...

Need Info on Sinclair 6PPC - BR Rifle

Most would want an idea of how many rounds down the tube, but I can see that you don't have access to that info. For most current BR shooters, the RR would be a minus as would the fact that Hall actions aren't the current "hot rock", as good as they are. The problem as I see it, isn't the asking...

    Norma 6 ppc brass

My guess is that if is available and someone can figure a way to make it profitable, it will happen. As far as I know it's still being made so to me it's not only possible, but probable. The real variable is the price. Rick

    Wichita action, Seely Masker gun

Justin, Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. I have owned two Wichita's and still have one. It was originally chambered in 6x47 and I have no clue who did the work. It currently has a PacNor barrel chambered in 20-223AI and is possibly the most accurate prairie dog rifle I own (maybe 2nd to a...

    Wichita action, Seely Masker gun

https://www.sniperforums.com/threads/wichta-arms-action.4682/ I can't say for sure as to your action, but I have a model 1375 action, R/R and the serial number is under the bolt near the rear of the action. I'm guessing you may have inherited the rifle since you seem to have no interest in...

    dazed and confused

Since few seems to be willing to offer possible solutions, I'll chance making a fool of myself and give it a try. First, I will admit to never having any experience with that cartridge. But in every situation involving bolt click it had to do with a mismatched chamber & die. Since you said this...

    This Forum Needs Help!

Couple of thoughts about this forum and forums in general. Twenty five years ago, more or less, I ran across a bulletin board called GoGoVarmintGo. It was a busy place with lots of good folks, varmint hunting/shooting/gun talk, etc. I got to know many of the regulars, quite a few in person. The...

    Well, it's been ten yrs.....favorite books/authors?

I've learned to avoid knowing about an author's politics and just enjoy what he does best. Just like actors, if I don't know their politics I can appreciate their talent. Once I know, it's hard to unsee. Rick

    Well, it's been ten yrs.....favorite books/authors?

Carlin is good and I've listened to Hardcore History as well as Common Sense, although I have to admit I lost some respect for his opinion when he said he admired Liz Warren a few years ago. From time to time I choose to listen to history (get my recorded books from a couple pf public libraries)...

    Newbie questions

I feel similar, but I do know of at least one very good shooter that chooses a R/R to slow himself down. There is more than one way to skin a cat. Rick

Neck Sizing a Heavy Straight-wall Case to a Bottleneck

I think the largest neck down I've done was forming a 7MM Alpo from a 444 Marlin case. I used a 35 Rem, 308 and 280 Remington AI shortened. It was for a Contender and the 280 die was shortened so that a factory round wouldn't chamber. Skip Otto made form dies for such a project, but I believe...

    Scumbag Supplier

I have to agree. The seller has no obligation to do anyone a favor. If you think they are too high (I agree), don't buy 'em. I see over priced stuff on accurateshooter all the time. Some are sellers I'm so familiar with I just laugh and don't even open the ad. Some are just stupid and thinks...

    Cataracts

I'll encourage you to get it done. I did have some difficulty between the first and the second and a short period of readjustment afterward. One upside is that I no longer even need glasses much of the time and I've worn them since age twelve. Downside is that close work isn't always easy...
